I’m calling for a revolution.
I’m not sure I know what that means.
But I know what it looks like.
People, leading. With their hearts.
This isn’t some la-de-da “everything is love” nonsense (although, yes, everything is love.)
This is a fierce lead-with-what-matters-most-to-you no matter WHAT that looks like.
This is a courageous put your neck on the line for the things and the people and the places that are actually worth living for, for YOU.
It could be your daughter, your wife, your husband, your parents. Your neighbors. The family unit as a whole. Community big and small.
It could be the ocean, the galaxy, the forests, the glaciers, and even the park down the street.
It could be a color, a texture, a pattern, a melody, an abstraction that you must bring to life.
Whatever it is, there is a place for it in the revolution.
Like all revolutions, this one comes because the old way is too painful to endure. The old way is a life The Lie. The Lie about what we’re capable of, what we care about, what success means for us. The Lie created by looking to the person next to us to determine how brilliant we are. The Lie is INSANITY disguised as reality.
The revolution calls us to start looking within. To honor what we see and share what we hear. To be brave enough to risk it all, do the unthinkable so that we all can be free.
