In the food industry, not all factories are run equally. Quite a few can be temporarily closed for governmental code violations. At the present moment, consumers must trust that companies and factories comply with these regulations and that nothing suspicious is going on with their food. Yet, over the past few years, consumers have seen a growing number of food recalls due to contaminated food.

Unfortunately, the problems don’t stop at contaminated food. With the rise of automated production and international competition, factories have been able to lower their prices. This is usually good for the consumer, but has given rise to new problems, such as fake food. It is easy to imagine how fake handbags or designer goods are created. Factories can simply copy a design, put on a fake logo, and churn out counterfeit goods.

What is even more worrying are the factories making counterfeit food. Even one of the cheapest stable products, eggs, is not safe from this. In China, there has been a case in which factories were using a combination of resin, starch, pigments and more to create fake eggs. Governments are having difficulty keeping tabs on each factory in the world, and the blockchain can help the process.

If a consumer were to buy fake eggs in the market today and discover they are fake, they would likely throw away the eggs and brush off their $2 mistake. This allows the manufacturer to continue its shady business practices and continue to scam and harm other consumers. With EndChain, consumers would be able to:

1) Flag the product on the blockchain

2) AI will be used to determine unusually high levels of complaints

3) Contact the correct governmental authority to intervene

For companies that need to show they are in compliance with governmental regulations:

1) Upload documents and pictures to a secure server

2) Take pictures of the factory to show compliance

3) Upload a hash of these documents to the blockchain

4) Anybody, including government regulators, will be able to quickly check these items
