It’s interesting that pretty much every single pedophile that I have talked to is generally quite disgusted and turned off by the overt sexualization of children, whether by wearing these kinds of clothes or through stuff like beauty pageants and things like that. You’d think it should be the opposite, but it clearly isn’t. It is then obvious that a big part of what pedophiles find attractive in children is that they are — in fact — children, with all that entails: their innocence, naivete, etc.

Adults have every right to wear the kind of clothes they want to wear. If an adult woman wants to feel sexy she has every right to wear sexy clothes. But it’s important to say — and I know you didn’t imply otherwise, I just want to reinforce the message — that them wearing sexy or skimpy clothes is in no way an invitation for men to make unwanted sexual advances on them. The “if you dress like a whore, you’re asking to be raped” type of arguments are simply stupid.

As a parent myself, I would not allow my own daughter to dress like that. Not because I think it would put her at risk of being sexually abused, but because I just find it distasteful, and I like children to dress like children, not like adults. Of course I want her to wear fresh clothes in the summer, but there are many ways to do that without over-sexualizing children.
