For the past few months I have been waking up early, at around 5:15 am, for work. I wanted to share with you what I have enjoyed and not enjoyed about waking up early.

What I have enjoyed about waking up early ?

  1. Morning gym sessions.
  2. Morning focus is up.
  3. My time management is better.

Morning Gym Sessions. Going to the gym after work was a real struggle for me and the motivation to go was non-existent. Waking up early allowed me to fit a nice 1 hour session in before I get ready for work. I have been able to go to the gym 5 times a week (Monday — Friday) before work, where previously going 3 times a week after work was way too difficult for me. I look forward to Wednesday sessions as it’s when I go on my 5k run. The run allows me to go into a deep state of thinking, sort of like meditation, and think about how the week has gone, thinking about life as a whole and how to beat my previous 5k time. The midweek run is really therapeutic for me and kicks me back into the gear for the remaining days of the week. Doing this has been beneficial for my health, I do feel fitter and healthier too. …
