BEA NYC: The Question is. . .

The Amazon Drone is Shot from the Sky by Global Indie Terrorists!

Now here’s a question that gets down to the nitty gritty. “Can anyone compete with Amazon?” I especially like the quote at the end of the article by the “consultant”:

Publishers, Khazaei says, “should have a plan” for what they will do if Amazon negotiations turn nasty, as they already have with Hachette. One part of that strategy could be for trade houses to get more serious about selling directly to consumers through their own sites and from their authors’ sites.

My business is doing exactly that: bypassing Amazon completely and marketing for the author through apps and online, directly to the consumer, using Dave Bricker’s PubML technology in tandem with my own developers’ plugins. I’m also doing some enhanced eBooks to attract a crowd for my authors. Hey, what about 3D? I’m also exploring that to show through indie publishing/distribution. To hell with Amazon. Full speed ahead, indies!
