The biography of Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shanker

Born in Papanasam, Tamil Nadu, India, on May 13, 1956, as Ravi Shankar Ratnam, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a well-known spiritual leader and humanitarian throughout the world. The Art of Living Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to promoting spiritual practices and knowledge that alter people on an individual and societal level, was founded by him.

Early Life and Education

Born into a household with a strong spiritual bent was Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. His mother, Vishalakshi Ratnam, was renowned for her dedication and wisdom, and his father, R.S. Venkat Ratnam, was a scholar. He demonstrated a remarkable gift for spirituality and a profound comprehension of the old testaments at a young age. He could recite passages from the Bhagavad Gita by the time he was four years old, and he was frequently observed meditating.

Spiritual Expedition

When he enrolled in Transcendental Meditation creator Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s program, his spiritual path took a dramatic shift. Sri Sri obtained profound understanding of meditation and the nature of the mind under Maharishi’s tutelage.
