So lets talk attraction. What is attraction? Why do we need to know about it? Many people actually have to get attracted to a person before they relate with such person. For some, the attraction is instant, while others take time to build. It could be because of different reasons from the time to the place to the emotion one was feeling at that moment. The main reason, however, is that we have more than one type of attraction. Many people don’t know that there are different types of attractions as they are stereotyped to a particular form of attraction. In this discuss, I will cover two types of attractions that are common today.
Types Of Attraction
While there are different types of attractions, I will be discussing two types of attractions that border relationships.
1. Romantic attraction
2. Emotional attraction
1. Romantic attraction: This form of attraction is common. It hinges on the feeling of having a romantic relationship with someone. Romantic attraction is very different from sexual attraction as some may confuse the two. Romantic attraction does not mean one wants to have sex. This highlights a romantic feeling of wanting to fill a void in someone’s life. This attraction brings two people together, so close that most times, they decide they want to spend the rest of their lives together. This form of attraction stems from emotional attraction most times. So what is Emotional attraction?
2. Emotional attraction: When younger, most people can’t identify when some are emotionally attracted to them. Their rush of emotions usually leave them observing the obvious facts. As one grows older, you get to seethe real signs of one being emotionally attracted to you. That is not when you think that because this guy tried kissing me, means he’s emotionally attracted. While it may differ in some people, I’ll highlight the major ones found in most people
• Watch to see if the person is happy to hang around you. Does he/she love your company? When you’re emotionally attracted to someone, you tend to always want to be with that person.
• He/She lets his friends or family know about you. You can find out if someone really cares about you through the friends. They know about this, and that’s why they either want you to know their friends and family or not.
• He/She talks to you a lot on the phone. We are always busy and many times get caught up in our activities, but someone who makes time to chat with you on the phone, either through calls or texting shows there is interest in you.
• He/She listens to you while you talk. This is one way to differentiate emotional attraction from sexual attraction (one I choose not to discuss today). Being emotionally attracted, the person tends to listen to you trying to know your thoughts. Unlike sexual attraction, the person doesn’t start looking at the lips and thinking of how it will feel, or looking at the hair and thinking about stroking it to the back of the ear. The person listens to the soul of the person, and that’s why they would always have something to contribute in such discussion.
• They are open to you. For a man, there’s this stereotypical belief that men don cry, don’t express emotions outside. A man who does this used to be viewed as not being masculine. Take note though, if a man can tell you about their emotions, it shows they are emotionally attracted to you. They won’t just tell anyone their feelings. I believe that also applies to ladies.
• Patience is another thing to look at. We all have flaws, and while the flaws of others may annoy or irritate a person, when the person they love exhibit such attitude, they tend to be patient with him/her. This patience is evidence of the emotional feeling developed in someone.
• They always want to take care if you. It’s not always easy to see what someone us going through. So when someone can notice a change in your look, or feeling, and the paternal or maternal instincts kick in, they sure are attracted to you emotionally. They would try to see how they can solve such problems for you.

Our discussion today, picks out emotional attraction and romantic attraction. While we discussed more on emotional attraction, it is good to know that most romantic attractions comes from emotional attraction. The Emotionality of a person can be identified through the points highlighted above. It is important to know this so one can be able to identify when someone us emotionally attracted to him/her.
