The second survey, in October 2021, looked at their work engagement, emotional well-being, and stress levels.

One of the standout findings was the strong link between hope and happiness. Musicians who had higher levels of hope also reported being happier. Interestingly, mindfulness didn’t show the same connection to happiness during prolonged stress.

Those with a hopeful outlook not only felt less stressed but were also more engaged in their work. They experienced lower levels of tension in their professional lives, suggesting that hope might help cushion the impact of stress on work engagement.
