Although I’ve read a lot of positive experiences of people hosting apps on heroku, I didn’t included it in the final list because its free tier wasn’t matching one of my requirements (the app must be always on).

On their site the pricing page for the free tier reports:
- sleeps after 30 mins of inactivity
- must sleep 6 hours in a 24 hour period

That’s the only reason why I didn’t include heroku in this article.

Though I know Meteor’s free servers are on the list and they actually idle after a while. That was due, I “had to” as I wrote an article about hosting a meteor app :P
