“Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, 41, hanged himself at his Palos Verdes home near Los Angeles on Thursday morning” (Daily Mail).

This is something that touches most of the guys of my generation, all the music lovers and all the people who had the opportunity to assist to a LP live show.
It is not only about his age (41 years) or because it was a successful vocalist with more than 60M of sold albums but it is about the causes:
As everyone can read on line, he had a bad youth, a drug abuse history “ started abusing marijuana, alcohol, opium, cocaine, methamphetamine, and LSD.He eventually overcame his drug addiction and would go on to denounce drug use in future interviews. During one Linkin Park tour, he started heavily drinking. In 2011”, (Wikipedia), and problems with depression.

I assisted to one LP live show three years ago in Italy at Sonisphere Festival. From the stage, he was pure power and communication, nothing about sickness or depression, but, as Marlon Brando said, everyone is an actor with a lot of roles in their own daily life, and probably, some life styles make you loose into the roles, hiding your real nature.

This theme is critically linked to our trip as entrepreneurs, not only because we must play the role of the salesman, the “pitcher”, the accountant etc. (without loose our nature), but it regards the following question:
Why are you starting a business spending yourself, your team, all your knowledge and your resources?

For me the response is both simple and complex at the same time:
To spread the change to the mankind using the best way: the market.
This means that, by making money, you can change the status quo.

I’m sure that a lot of people think that an entrepreneur is someone whose unique goal is the profit.
False!

For the real entrepreneur, the profit is not the end of the trip, it is the fuel that allows you to travel: more profit = more fuel = more people touched by your innovation.
Another point is that if you think the profit is the end of the game, you will not be able to pivot or to change your role into the company board, too blind to see that your car is going to crash against a concrete wall.

I started my company not only to make money and be successful but because I strongly believe that we have the power to make the cancer patients’ lifes better, by reducing their anguish while they are waiting for an accurate cancer diagnosis.
Yes, we do that, by making the diagnostics procedures faster, we can give a faster news to patients, avoiding the stress and depression, and, maybe, we will save some lives.

During the time spent at RebelBio, I met extraordinary entrepreneurs and scientists… and game changers!

Some of them have the power to save the forests and the natural resources, so the people don’t need to leave their houses due to the landscape devastation.
Some of them can alleviate or cure the people’ chronic disorders, and consequently reducing the pain and their inabilities to conduct a normal life.
Some of them have the power to create life-saver compounds in a box or to find a new application for an existing medicine to treat a rare disease, so patients don’t struggle anymore searching for a solution to their conditions.
Some of them can provide vitamins, anticancer compounds, painkiller substances or metabolic regulators in a measurable and standard way, so persons can cure or prevent diseases without the anguish of using needles or limit their lives.
Some of them remove most of the risk related to the side effect of some life-saver treatments by using new molecules or by reducing the toxicity or by improving the specificity of the old ones, they can literally save people life while giving hope and time to a lot of patients.
Some of them can create natural and super-powered and high-quality food or detect killer toxins before being consumed preventing the malnutrition or the dead of millions of people.
Some of them can give to all the people a tool for a self-diagnostic tests, that now avoid people to expose to the public domain their intimacy, but that will make them able to find microbiological contaminations or allergens in food and water.

We, from all around the world, are united by one super power:
We can change people lives, we can make their life better!
Because if we will save just only one life, we will affect with the positivity all microcosmos that turn around that life, we avoid also the depression related to the inabilities or to a loss, the stress caused by moving from the ancestor land, the anxiety of cannot do anything to treat the loved ones for their rare disease or metabolic problems or the other psychological side effects related to bad conditions or disorders.

I don’t believe, I’m sure that one day we will look back without regrets because we are now doing the best of us to spread the knowledge and the innovation globally.

We are the ones that have the moral responsibility to drive the change, to use our skills to add some value to the daily people life.
We use the market, the profit and the success because it is the only way that allows to an innovation to spread fast.

We are the game-changers, we can change one, we can change the world!
