Introducing Enterprise Protocol— Your no-code solution to DAO management
Enterprise Protocol seeks to simplify DAO management and promote governance transparency within the Terra ecosystem.
Overview
Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) are integral to Web3, as they enable communities to solve collective-action problems at scale whilst making decisions in a decentralized and transparent manner.
However, today’s DAOs face multiple problems:
- No common framework exists for the creation of DAOs, resulting in development complications and replicated work for teams looking to implement their own models of the same system. This leads to DAO model fragmentation, making it more difficult to create proper tooling to support all DAOs.
- The barriers-to-entry when setting up an on-chain DAO are too high. Doing so requires technical expertise such as writing and deploying smart contracts, and maintaining an interface for users to interact with, among other considerations. Consequently, many projects have elected to avoid adopting on-chain DAOs altogether. Instead, they leverage off-chain, centralized providers such as Telegram or Discord to make decisions, defeating the premise of a DAO in the process.
Enterprise Protocol
Introducing Enterprise Protocol, a no-code solution that empowers teams and communities to create, organize, and manage DAOs on the Terra blockchain.
Enterprise was created with one goal in mind: make DAOs easier to manage and operate. Whether you are creating a new DAO or importing an existing one, Enterprise has all of the tools you’ll need.
DAO Creation
You don’t need to be a full-stack engineer to create a DAO on Terra. With Enterprise, you can spin-up a multi-sig wallet, token DAO, or NFT DAO in just under a minute. DAO owners can choose to create a new token, NFT collection, or multi-sig entirely, or import membership from an existing one.
Please note that this no-code solution is not intended as legal advice regarding DAO creation.
Treasury Management and Transparency
With Enterprise’s treasury management dashboard, DAO members can view the treasury’s token balances, NFT holdings, and history of transactions. DAOs now have full, easy-to-access transparency, allowing for greater accountability over how DAO funds are used.
Governance Management
DAO members can create and vote on proposals to make changes to the DAO itself. Members can decide to spend the treasury, change the configuration of the DAO, and make various adjustments to the direction of the DAO to align the organization’s structure with its long-term goals.
The Future of DAOs on Terra
Enterprise will serve as the foundation for DAO management within the Terra ecosystem. This shared framework for creating and managing DAOs will be complemented in the future with the addition of analytics and meta-governance tools.
What’s Next?
Here’s a sneak peak of some of the features coming to Enterprise Protocol:
- New proposal types — In V1, cosmos/wasm messages are used to create proposals. A no-code proposal creation UI is in the works for common proposal types such as:
- Community pool fundraising — Request for funding from Terra’s Community Pool
- Disbursement of funds and vesting — Allow for funds to be disbursed from the DAO treasury with vesting management
- Trade tokens — Allow for tokens in the DAO treasury to be traded on Terra DEXes
- Discord and Telegram management — Roles and access management based on DAO membership and behavior
- Community participation rewards — Allow DAOs to create campaigns and offer rewards for completing tasks (e.g., joining a Discord or following a Twitter account)
- Labor markets — Marketplace for DAOs to post jobs and bounties
