Engineering counselling till 2014 was being conducted by Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB), but from this year, i.e 2015 the CSAB 2015 Counselling has been replaced by JoSAA. By JoSAA, we mean Joint Seat Allocation Authority that has two constituents, one being CSAB 2015 and other being JAB 2015. JoSAA has laid down a standard pattern for CSAB 2015 Counselling and this counselling procedure will commence from 25 June 2015. Only candidates who would have qualified in their JEE Main 2015 examinations and who will satisfy the eligibility criteria as laid down by JoSAA 2015 will be considered eligible to participate in CSAB 2015 Counselling.

CSAB 2015 Counselling will begin with eligible candidates filling up the counselling application form online, then filling up of their preferred choices and locking them up. Thereafter JoSAA will conduct counselling rounds (4) and will select deserving candidates for seat allocation, thereby verifying their documents. After being selected, such candidates will have to report to the allocated institute personally and remit requisite fees and claim the seat allotted to them.

Seat allotment under CSAB 2015 Counselling will be done on the basis of the seat availability data provided by the particpating colleges and also on the basis of the JEE Main 2015 All India Rank list that will be declared on 24 June 2015. A seat to the highest possible choice of academic program, chosen by the candidate will be allocated to him/her considering the following factors -

Category to which the candidate belongs to

Position secured by the candidate in All India Rank list
Preference of academic programs, chosen by the candidate

  1. Seat availability under different categories
  2. Seat quotas applicable
  3. to the candidate
  4. JoSAA 2015 business rules

Also for the purpose of seat allocation under CSAB Counselling, qualified and eligible candidates will be partitioned into different categories such as their (birth) categories, presence or absence of disability and nationality.
