Procedure for JEE Main 2016 Exam

JEE Main 2016 is the name of the largest engineering entrance examination of the country which is held by CBSE. Selected candidates are offered seats in various IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other SFTIs. It is a two tier examination wherein the 1st tier is held for admission in IIITs and NITs whereas the second tier is held for admission in IITs. JEE Main 2016 Eligibility Criteria

1.General and OBC candidate must be born on or after 1 October 1991. 2.SC/ST/PwD candidates must be born on or after 1 October 1986.
3.Candidate must have qualified in class XII or equivalent examination from a state or central recognized school. It is necessary to score at least 50% marks in core subjects.
4.Those who have passed the qualifying exam before 2014 would be considered ineligible.
5.Only three attempts are allowed in the examination.

JEE Main 2016 Application Form

Candidates can fill the application form in online and offline mode. It would be issued in the 2nd week of November 2015. In the form, candidates must enter personal (name, category, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name, and gender), educational (pass year, pass percentile, and qualifying exam board), and communicational (email ID, mobile number, landline number, and address) details. Care must be taken that all these details must be correct, complete, and valid. They must also upload scanned images of photograph, signature, and left hand thumb impression in the application.

Signature — File size between 1 KB and 30 KB and of size 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (Height).
Thumb Impression — File size between 1 KB and 30 KB and of size 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (Height).
Photograph — File size between 4 KB and 40 KB and size 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (Height).

JEE Main 2016 Exam Pattern

  1. The candidates seeking admission in B.Tech must solve Paper-1.
    2.The candidates seeking admission in B.Arch/B.Planning must solve Paper-2.
    3.Paper-1 will ask objective type questions from Physics, Math, and Chemistry.
    4.Paper-2 would have 3 parts — math, aptitude skills, and drawing test.
    Paper-1 would be held in online and offline mode.
    5.Paper-2 would be held in offline mode only.
    6.Duration of the examination in both papers is 3 hours.
    7.Total number of questions in Paper-1 is 90.
    8.Correct answer would fetch positive 4 marks.
    9.Incorrect answer would fetch negative 1 mark.
