Three New Experts Bring Their Expertise To The Envion Team
Envion is excited to announce that it has brought on three new members to the team. They all will be of major value to the Envion board and move the company toward its goals.
Prof. THORSTEN GRENZ
Prof. Thorsten Grenz is Managing Partner at KIMBRIA Investments and Consulting. He also serves as member of the supervisory board at medical and safety technology company Draeger and has done so for the past ten years. Among various roles, he is also Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration at Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel, Germany. As of January 2015, Grenz is also President of the Financial Experts Association, an advocacy group for independent financial experts on superadvisory boards. Among previous posts held by Grenz were CEO at Veolia and Mobilcom AG and Partner at private equity firm 3i.
Prof. Dr. FRIEDBERT PFLÜGER
Former German politician (CDU) Prof. Dr. Friedbert Pflüger is now an advisor for Envion. He is founder and managing partner of Pflüger International GmbH in Berlin, and Chairman of the Internet Economy Foundation, which was founded in April 2016. He previously served as Secretary of State in the Ministry for Defense, Germany. He also served as a director of the European Centre of Energy and Resource Security at King’s College in the United Kingdom.
He is also an honorary professor at the university. He is also senior fellow of the Atlantic Council, head of the Commodities Workgroup of Atlantikbrücke, member of the Steering Committee of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa), member of the advisory board of the Institute of Energy Economics (EWI) at the University of Cologne, and member of the International Selection Committee of the Expo 2017 (Kazakhstan) Energy Best Practices Area. Pflüger is author and editor of numerous books and publishes on topics of energy policy, among others in Handelsblatt, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Internationale Politik, Energy Post, Energate and Security Times.
Prof. Dr. PHILIPP SANDNER
Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner has also joined Envion. Sandner currently heads the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. The center analyzes the implications of blockchain technology for business and other industries, and sees itself as a platform for knowledge-sharing for decision makers, startups, technology and industry experts. He previously co-founded the Munich Innovation Group GmbH, which specialized in innovation, intellectual property and technology transfer. He was also a lecturer at the Technical University of Munich and the TUM School of Management. Sandner also spent several years at University of California Berkeley. His research is centered about blockchain applications, entrepreneurship and digital transformation within the financial technology sector. Research Policy, the Journal of Marketing Research and the Journal of Business Venturing have frequently published Sandner’s work.
