How’s the environment here?

“It’s terrible. I miss my old house. My house was destroyed when Cyclone Nargis came, because our house wasn’t well constructed. Here, since we can’t afford to build a house again, or rent an apartment, we have to sleep wherever we can. And there are already people staying here before we got here, so we only have to live in a really bad, smelly place.”

What do you dislike the most about this environment?

“It is really cold in winter nights, but it is really hot in the day. So that’s one of the things we have to live with. Also, there’s a stream near my house; it used to be clean, and not smelly, but after a few months we got here, it was jammed with plastic bags, and sometimes, human’s feces stuck there, and the smell is really bad. I hate it.”
