Telos Mainnet 1.8 Activation

NOTICE:
On September 26th, 2019 @ 17:00UTC we will be activating the 1.8 consensus protocol for the Telos Mainnet. If you have not updated your Telos Mainnet node to eosio v1.8, your node will no longer sync with the network after 2019–09–26T17:00.

PLAN:
All block producers have been diligently working in recent weeks to not only test the upgrade procedures but also upgrade all their Mainnet infrastructure to eosio 1.8.x in preparation for this activation. The agreed upon plan is to trigger the 1.8 activation to occur at 17:00 UTC on September 26th, 2019. Once the consensus protocol is activated, any node running eosio versions earlier than 1.8 will no longer be in sync with the chain (but can rejoin by upgrading to 1.8).

SCHEDULE:
We are currently scheduling for SEPTEMBER 26TH @ 17:00UTC to officially activate the 1.8 consensus protocol. Afterwards, the 1.8 features will be individually activated by the BPs after further testing/coordination.

Be sure you prepare your testnet nodes with EOSIO 1.8.1+ and join the private BP Technical channel for further coordination (DM Josep@Barcelona for channel info). IMPORTANT NOTE: PREACTIVATION_FEATURE JSON SHOULD BE UPDATED TO 2019–09–26T17:00

dApps/Wallets/Explorers/Exchanges:
If you do not run a local node and only use public endpoints, there should be little to no impact to you (assuming the public node you utilize is properly updated).

If you maintain a local Telos Mainnet node for your operations, you will need to update the EOSIO software to 1.8.1+ and either replay the chain information to the new 1.8 format or bootstrap your node with adownloaded block log or snapshot (must have been generated by 1.8 node).
