A leach on the beach
A creature of both flesh and spirit
of sea and sky — of both concrete and sand
And i’ll stand in the spot you once sat
once drank in
once spat,
More like a home than where you once used address,
not caring to impress.
And I look to this whole ocean like a grave
that can save and preserves your soul
Still whole — still here in me — And you’re hearing me
Louder than — clearer than any living, breathing teacher
that will never live to work a day without stress — Living mess
In the shadow of a man who was free-
In a shadow of what i’ll be — Like the only free man i’ve ever known
You have shown me the power of non — conformity and what it means to be
Eternity.
