Harris Wittles, a comedian and writer, died last week. He wrote on and produced one of my favorite shows, Parks and Recreation.
I’m not sure why I keep thinking about it, about him, and about comedy in general so much lately. It might have something to do with the vast amount of comedy themed and comedian hosted podcasts I listen to these days. It might be because Parks just aired it’s series finale yesterday. Or maybe it’s because he keeps popping up in my Twitter feed from time to time with comedians friends of his retweeting his often hilarious jokes.
It’s just sad.
I never knew him. But he’s made me laugh, and that’s a valuable thing, a great thing to give to the world.
If you want to understand Harris and his humor I highly suggest reading this excellent post by @johndodig: Harris Wittles: Prince of Podcasts
