7 Tips to Design Effective Ads for Mobile Devices
Marketers must start to focus their attention on designing an effective mobile ad as the number of mobile users is continuously growing. More than 70% of the clicks that an ad gets comes from mobile devices. Some of the tips to keep in mind while designing mobile ads:
- Avoid intrusive banners
Huge banners covering most of the information on the page causes irritation. User may leave the site when a pop-up banner blocks the important content. Huge banners can also damage your brand image.
-Avoid making the close ad cross too small
Better make the cross (the little X allowing users to close your ad) noticeable, so that users who are not interested in advertising could easily close it. Tricking users into watching your ad generates negative feelings that damage your brand.
-Text is readable
If a banner is small, that does not excuse text that’s unreadable or unclear. If you want to put a lot of information, check whether the text fits and is located correctly.
-Content is easily rendered
The content must be rendered fast and optimized for the mobile device, keeping in mind that the user can have a low connection or maybe on video ads.
-Clickable and convenient CTAs
When it comes to CTA buttons on a mobile page, size matters. Most mobile users can’t click accurately on the small buttons. Provide your advertising page with CTAs of a reasonable size to make them easy to use without the need to scale the page.
-Focus is on offering
Highlight the most important characteristics or USP’s of your products/services with vivid colors and size.
-Ad format and size
Choose the best format and size for your brand and/or company the best and most suitable mobile banner ad sizes are those who do not interfere with your audience’s mobile browsing experience
I will suggest to place banners at the bottom of the screen, since users find this location less provoking. Moreover, such banners get more clicks compared to those which are at the top.
