log(x) vs ln(x) — The curse of scientific computing
Kamil Tamiola

I personally use log x only when I’m too lazy to write the base, and I deem it obvious. This means when I teach algorithm classes, it’s obvious it’s base 2. If there’s no context, the obvious is natural logarithm. I practically never use any logarithm in base 10.
