I’ve had the image above of the Seljalandsfoss waterfall in Iceland as my desktop background for about a year. I like to surround myself with positive reinforcement where possible, so I chose this pleasant nature photo pretty randomly while perusing Unsplash.
Almost as a long term accidental experiment in subliminal advertising, I found myself occasionally reading information about Iceland and feeling drawn to the scene in the image until before I knew it my girlfriend and I had booked a flight to Reykjavík and shortly thereafter I found my generic desktop nature photo coming to life!
