Housing as a Service (HaaS)

The concept of Housing as a Service is quite new, or relatively unknown. If you do a quick Google search, you’ll find only two Medium articles about it. Google Trends reveals that almost no one has searched for it. So it’s safe to assume, that in 2020, the idea Housing as a Service is pretty much non-existent to the general public. So let’s talk about it!

What is Housing as a Service? Why even talk about it? Well, let’s think about it in relation to Software as a Service, or SaaS. SaaS is a model of delivering a software suite of services to consumers on a subscription basis so that the consumer can use them when they need them, or by-the-sip. Think about G-Suite or the Adobe Suite. There is an ecosystem language, or user experience, that makes sense within G-Suite and there is a separate ecosystem language for the Adobe Suite; but they both make sense to the user.

There are a ton of benefits to SaaS. It’s way easier for the user to understand a collection of software services, so they can start using them appropriately much faster. Typically, because all the services are bundled together, there’s a lower cost. You can scale and integrate these services into an array of other services or processes much faster since it is hosted by an external provider.
