Day 30 (week 6) — Halfway

Today is the halfway point.

In the morning huddle, we had some previous grads visit and they answered questions about what it’s like to have a developer job, some advice about what to do in finding a job, and other questions. I think it was a good session, and I was certainly encouraged that they all seemed to have rewarding jobs.

After the huddle, we had three presentations of the word-guessing-game project. It was interesting to see some common threads emerge from our solutions. I was one of the presenters, and I think it went fairly well. I had finished the Twitter OAuth2 in my app, and the demo went as planned. I was able to Tweet about me winning my own game. :-)

After lunch, we got a new daily project that involves making our robot directory website require authentication as well as the ability to edit different robot profiles. We also got the new weekly project which looks intense.

In this weekly project, we have to code a site that essentially provides similar functionality to the GitHub GIST website. Users can log in, create and edit code snippets, view other snippets, etc. This will definitely be a challenging project, and I’ve already started to plan out what I need to do this weekend.

I spent the afternoon working on the daily project of modifying the robot directory. I’m already pretty close to being done, but probably need a few more hours to finish it.

It will be another busy weekend. :-)
