Day 1- Guatemala Trek

Day 1!

Today we walked 23km towards Mirador- made it in 5.5hours. It rained yesterday so most of the track was super muddy and we were walking in calf deep mud- takes its toll on the legs!

Climbed to the top of the pyramid in Tintal. Amazing view, worth the hard days work and there is even bigger and better coming soon. Returned to camp and had spagball- carbo loading in prep for a big day tomorrow.

Our tent is Guatemalan size so Kirk barely fits, his knees are pretty much at the door. Also, we ate trough our 5 day supply of biscuits so it’s healthy snacks only from now.

This was our mule, Pilo. He was the awesomest and coolest donkey out. Pilo was chilled and enjoyed a good leaf or two, only the crunchy ones. We were mates.
