Brooklyn Borough President-Elect Eric Adams Statement on Melissa Mark-Viverito

Brooklyn Borough President-Elect Eric Adams issued the following statement on Melissa Mark-Viverito:

“I am proud to be supporting Melissa Mark-Viverito in her historic candidacy to be the first Latino in citywide office. We’re at a pivotal moment in our city’s history when we need leaders who get it—and Melissa Mark-Viverito gets it. Melissa has been on the front lines of some of our most important fights, like increasing the minimum wage and fighting for workers’ rights. She understands that constituents have to be equal partners, and has been a leader in expanding participatory government. If elected speaker, I know she’ll put New Yorkers first, and that’s why I am supporting her.”
