Space Time

Neil deGrasse Tyson had a great conversation with William Shatner in an recent interview on Star Talk. The topic of Space Time came up and of Course, Neil deGrasse was able to explain the science in a inspirational and understandable way.

One hypothetical was very interesting. If someone was viewing earth today from a distant planet, some 65 million miles away, they would be witnessing the meteor showers that ended the dinosaurs… In real time. The photons of light that allow them to view earth, would NOT be 65 million years old, from the perspective of the photon the meteor shower just happened. This is because particle moves at the speed of light and therefore do not experience time.
