Random Thoughts for the week of Nov 15
Wednesday I cried while eating lunch because I felt like a total failure.
I bought a used car (2011 Honda Accord) this week from CarMax. It was a very pleasant experience.
I hate going back into debt. Debt is dumb, but I am not sure how to avoid it.
We have been a one car family for over a year. This has been difficult.
My 2005 Honda Civic has 200k miles and a coolant leak I cannot find. Thankfully I only live 2 miles from work.
Why is it when Protestant Mega-Church pastors quote Catholics they are trendsetting and “cross-tribal” and when I quote Catholics I am heretical and non-creditable?
I enjoy listening to Father John Riccardo’s (Catholic Priest) Sunday homilies (Link)
I enjoy listening to Nadia Bolz-Weber’s (Lutheran Minister) Sunday homilies (Link)
There is a disconnect between my spiritual knowledge and my daily walk. While searching for truth I have neglected to feed my soul and practice my faith.
My soul is more nourished by Catholic writers than Protestant writers 99% of the time.
These verses ministered to me this week…
Psalm 25:4 — Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
Psalm 25:5 — Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Psalm 25:18 — Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
Psalm 27:11 — Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
