One of the most important factors that determine your success in life is your morning routine.
How you start your morning matters because your morning sets the pace for your entire day. Get the morning right and your far more likely to get the rest of the day right.
When you start strong, with motivation and purpose, your day is fulfilling and it will drive you to accomplish more throughout the day.
On the contrary, if you start your day with weak energy, lack of direction and have no motivation, you will find that you tend to be lazy to do things. You take less action and are less productive.
So, how can you make your morning routine a bliss? What should you do each morning so that you are driven to achieve greater success?
Use the 20/20/20 formula.
I learned this from Robin Sharma, the best-selling author of The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari and The 5 AM Club.
Sir Robin Sharma said that if you want to conquer your day, you must conquer your mornings. And here’s how he did it:
Spend 20 minutes to exercise and sweat.
Spend 20 minutes to grow and improve yourself.
Spend 20 minutes to reflect and review.
Basically, you prepare yourself to jumpstart your morning. You can use an hour to prep yourself for the day.
This is just an example, it doesn’t need to be 60 minutes. It can be more or it can be less, depending on your own situation.
Exercise and sweat are easy. You just need to move your body around. Do some push-ups, jump around, and do some reps.
Watch a YouTube video for a quick workout session if you want to.
As for the second 20-minute slot, you do something to grow and improve yourself.
For instance, you can read a book, listen to an informational podcast, or learn something from the courses you have attended. Or best yet tune into Success Life live.
The point is to spend time improving your skills and knowledge. You want to grow yourself to become someone better each day.
In the third 20-minute slot, you reflect and review your life. You can do planning here, review your goals, track your progress, and also prepare for your day.
This is also where most people don’t do.
They know that they need to review their goals, but they don’t know how to do it.
They want to track their progress, but they have no idea where to start.
They know that planning is important, but they don’t know how to plan.
