Yeah I never fully understood the whole “Look at Big Papi — he’s such a loving great guy” and “A-Rod is such a cheating jerk.” They both have committed the same crime (if you want to call it that). Only difference is one player came out of nowhere to help win a WS for a city that hadn’t won one in 100 years while A-Rod signed a huge contract with the Yankees. Maybe Boston fans are just mad that not everyone in the country gets on their knees to worship Brady and instead think he’s a cheating arrogant punk, so instead they have to prop Ortiz up to be a God.
