Fair enough. And yes, she has a style and she’s a really good writer. But as to effectiveness, that’s kind of my point, actually. She is acting as a social advocate, trying to raise awareness, no? I mean, what’s the point of the article? Performance art, or social action? Here’s someone (like me) coming here to learn alternative points of view, but get dismissed as a “neocon piece of shit” or “amoral fucking pyschopath” because I’ve not yet become enlightened, I guess, to this particular form of truth.
I guess I’m just suggesting that a little humility would go a long way to start a conversation around these issues.
But, you make a good point and I respect it. I have no idea if I’m right here. Maybe I’m overreacting to the style and it’s the information that matters. But that’s also a problem, because when someone who is not an independent journalist doing primary research (which frankly, she is not) insists they are 100% right, and that anyone who disagrees is a brainwashed moron, then I am inclined to read that work with a lot of skepticism.
