Goodbye Forever

I stood by the door and thought about what I was going to say before she walked out.

We had a lot of good times. Please take care.

No, that’s stupid. I need to say something from the heart. It’s possible I’ll really never see her again.

Thank you so much. Really, please, know you can do anything.

No, that’s cliche. I need to say something that she’ll remember forever. And here she comes, walking fast with tears in her eye.

I open my mouth, but before I can say a word she blurts out,

I hate goodbyes

And she brushed past my shoulder.

And I never saw her again.

And I’ll never forget that goodbye.
