In 24 Galaxies

They say robots and intergalactic slugs can never be together. It’s illegal in 24 galaxies for the two to be seen in the same room.

“Don’t you forget about me,” said the slug, wishing he had arms to throw around the robot.

“But I’m having my memory wiped tomorrow.” If the robot had emotion, it’d probably be some sort of sad.

“Oh how I wish you weren’t a robot,” said the slug.

“Oh how I wish you weren’t an intergalactic slug,” said the robot

“Will I ever see you again?” Not that the slug had eyes. It’s just an expression of course.

“Possibly. My parts will be recycled. You might see my face in the next computer you buy.”

“And then we’ll always be together,” said the slug.
