The only true validation you can get for yourself is by talking to people face to face. Instagram has become a huge, carefully curated front for who we want to be perceived as. We are basically designing ourselves, or at least a first impression.

Simply having a certain set of images on your grid will put you in a set group of people with similar tastes, ideals, and goals. Though it’s sort of inevitable, it’s a dangerous culture to participate in because you will start losing a sense of you who you truly are. You’ll subconsciously group yourself with who you’re “supposed” to be like.

This is a reminder to myself to scroll less and read, write, and talk more.
