Nowadays, we usually use URL shorteners to make our messages and contents more clear. For example: goo.gl, bit.ly, etc…
Using URL shorteners, we can not only make the URL shorter, but also analyze all of the click events. On the analytics data page, we can see the referral links that users came from, the browsers that users used, and most importantly, the total clicks that the shortened url received.
But…
That information is not private. Instead, that information is open to the public and can be seen by everyone even without logging into a Google account.
For example, if you have a goo.gl link from a competitor (or one you are just curious about), you can simply attach a “.info” suffix at the end of the link.
