One of the worst developments of online, social discourse to me is that commenters, and even journalists, don’t discuss actual evidence or what they believe. It’s all about who said what and when, how can we politically decode and deconstruct what was said to find fault, whose side are you representing, why you are doing a shitty job representing, and so on. I suppose this really helps the liars and narcissists who gravitate toward political office, since we are way more concerned with spin than fact.
