Glad to hear it’s not dead. We built my previous business on Codeigniter. It definitely helped us “get shit done” as a small team.
Saying you have a startup sounds sexy to some. Totally agree with your point of view. We are building a business here. Some are sexy and cool. Others are not. Anything other than a business should be sidelined as a hobby.

Great article. I’m always surprised when I see a CEO make a product hire as one of the first employees. The CEO should be product and sales until the true product and market fit are validated.
Always plan for failure. Applications should expect availability issues whether it be a service or whole data center.
