Eagles offensive play-calling was abhorrent — calling screens on 2nd and short multiple times, trying a toss with a slow running back, not utilizing play-action or tight ends (who victimize the Lions). They shot themselves in both feet getting penalized in key situations (14 penalites for 115 yards) and the costly Mathews fumble in the last drive. Remember, they defense only gave up 11 yards in the 2nd half; instead of the fumble, if they had pinned them down to the 20-yard-line with that last punt, they would probably be 4–0 as we speak.
