Apparently everyone has forgotten that after July 2016, when the hacking scandal broke, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told Russian state media that the Russian government had been in contact with “quite a few” (his words) of Trump’s team. And this was during the campaign, not after Trump was elected. At the time, Russian media was running stories stating that Trump would be removing sanctions when elected, citing top officials.

So Flynn is just the tip of the iceberg here. And are we to believe that Trump, who himself has extensive ties in Russia, was not involved directly in these contacts, or at the least knew they were happening?
