When We Were Kids
When we were kids, we would make movies just for the fun of it.
We were filmmakers.
When we were kids, we would write and record music to express feelings. We were composers, musicians, and audio engineers.
When we were kids, we would write, draw, and create imaginative things.
We were artists, dreamers, and innovators.
When we were kids, we would fall and “fail” a thousand times, yet try again. We were resilient and persistent.
We can now walk, talk, read, and write, which didn’t happen overnight.
When we were kids, we would constantly ask why, seeking to understand. We were learners and truth seekers.
When we were kids, we would freely share our things, thoughts, and needs. We were kind, honest, and bold.
When we were kids, we would rely on others for the bare necessities of life. We were trusting of others and contributed according to our capacities.
When we were kids, we would resolve conflicts with a good night’s sleep. We were forgiving and quick to forget.
When we were kids, we would laugh, smile, cry, and jaw drop in utter awe. We were alive.
When we were kids, we would easily make friends, regardless of differences. We were kids and so were they. That was enough.
Maybe that’s why Jesus said,
“Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 18:3
