‘Reverse’ Poem

Love is dead

and I refuse to believe that

our generation has done at least something correctly

I know many will try to convince me otherwise, but

“soul mates exist”

is false

“true love is a myth.”

So someday I’ll tell the person i’m with

that they’ll never be my priority.

The checks in my pocket will prove

I have other, more important goals.

It’s naive to believe that

love really does exist.

All of this will reign true

unless you choose to REVERSE IT
