Erika Stewart SOWK 445 week#5

#1. What do you think?

This week was a very successful week gaining more information and insight on the causes and social aspects of my social welfare policy. Emergency Shelter Grant Programs are services that individuals need and it’s interesting to see how this policy was implemented and what reasons are for individuals needing the services.

#2. Why do you think that?

I believe that these policies were implemented to help people enhance one’s learning abilities on poverty, healthcare, and environmental structures. The programs available are useful and people must take advantage of the assistance given from the caring social workers addressed to adhere to all social needs of that particular issue at hand.

#3. How do you know this?

I know this through the research and books I’ve read over time and during this week. I was able to connect to the authors of certain articles to come up with solutions and thoughts on why standards tend to be the way they are.

#4. Can you tell me more?

The readings are very informative and it gives me a chance to come up with ideas to why certain policies are the way they are. Nonetheless, the purpose of the social welfare programs is to give the help one needs overall.

#5. What questions do you still have?

What are ways individuals can raise money to keep non-profit housing shelters open?
