English Classics by Frances Hodgson Burnett

A story about a little princess called Sara. She was born rich and had everything you could wish for. Some people love Sara for her kind heart, but many people hate her out of envy.

One time, there was an accident that made her lose everything she owned before.

However, it didn’t shake her much.

She is only a child, but she's still kind, strong, and has a positive thought even after experiencing a drastic change in her life. She believes that good things will come, and hard times will pass.

She caught her breath

‘Somehow, something always happens,’ she cried,

‘just before things get to the very worst. It is as if the Magic did it. If I could only just remember that always. The worst thing never quite comes.’

If I embrace that part, it gives me the strength to believe that there will always be help for me to overcome hard times.

Just like Sara says, the worst thing never quite comes.

Hopefully

For a person with intermediate English skill (like me), this book is quite challenging to read. There's a lot of unfamiliar vocabulary that makes it hard to understand. Nevertheless, maybe because its fairy tale vibes or the language, the story becomes more beautiful to read.
