Things to do in Gatlinburg during October

Gatlinburg is pretty incredible in October and since our previous blog about what to do in Gatlinburg has been so popular, (you can find it here by the way) we decided to put together a list of our favorite things to do in Gatlinburg during the month of October.

10. Ripley’s Fright Nights

Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is scary all year, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked by that building and had the bejeezus scared out of me by one of their actors.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the month of October, Ripley’s Haunted Adventure presents Fright Night’s, a celebration of classic and contemporary movie monsters. They even have a monster parade at 6:00pm!

9. Wicked Things

Well, it is my blog.

Wicked Things is a comedy magic show with a spooky twist! Chris Collins and Erik Dobell have recently purchased Weiss Manor, unaware that there is something sinister already living in the house. Will they be able to unlock the mystery of Weiss Manor before it’s too late?

8. Trick or Treat Kick Off Karnival

Every year on Halloween the Ripley’s Aquarium holds it’s annual Trick or Treat Kick Off Karnival! Costume contests, candy and food vendors make this the place to celebrate Halloween for parents and their little ghouls.

7. Oktoberfest at Ober Gatlinburg

Come celebrate in Bavarian style! Every year Ober Gatlinburg offers a family fun experience with games, live music, amazing Bavarian style food and…BEER!

6. Fall Foliage

We don’t have to tell you how beautiful Gatlinburg is and we certainly don’t have to tell you how beautiful Gatlinburg is in the Fall when all the leaves are changing color.

The best part about this activity? It’s free!

5. Escape Games

Yes, we did mention the Captured one in our previous BLOG. But it’s Halloween and there isn’t a scarier attraction anywhere than the Escape Rooms in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Since the last blog, Headcase Escape Adventures opened up next door to the Gatlinburg Space Needle featuring the Aztec Adventure and (our favorite) the Doomsday Bomber!

4. Kyker Farm Corn Maze

OK, this one is actually in Sevierville but we just had to have it on the list. Who doesn’t love a good Corn Maze?

This is a incredible Corn Maze owned and operated by the Kyker family open only during the month of October. And if you’ve ever wanted to shoot a zombie, check out their Zombie Blasterz ride!

3. Halloween at the Island

On October 29th, the Island in Pigeon Forge will be presenting it’s 4th annual Halloween event! This year they’ll be music, circus performers, trick or treating and a costume contest!

2. Gatlinburg Craftmen’s Fair

Running this year from October 6th to the 23rd, the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair has been voted one of the Southeast’s most popular events! Two-hundred vendors with handcrafted objects being made on the spot and sold. This is a great opportunity to pick up some one of a kind gifts for the upcoming holiday season!

1. Mysterious Mansion

Another returnee from our previous list, you can’t talk about Halloween in Gatlinburg without mentioning the Mysterious Mansion!

A Gatlinburg staple for over 35 years, this isn’t a corny haunted house. The Mysterious Mansion will legitimately scare the daylights out of you. A must see for thrill seekers visiting Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
