My Favorite Things To Do in Gatlinburg…So Far.

Impossibilities doesn’t open at the Iris Theater until March of 2016 but that hasn’t stopped Chris and I from exploring our new home. Come to find out, our new home has a lot to offer! So we decided to make a list of our favorite things to do in Gatlinburg.

10. Sugarlands Distilling Company

Do you like Moonshine? Erik does. But even if you don’t this is a fascinating and fun place to visit. For starters, they offer free music concerts on what appears to be a weekly schedule. So if you’re not into the Moonshine can you come hang out for the great music!

They also offer tours of the Great Smoky Mountains, behind the scene tours of their distillery and are very active in raising money for community programs.

9. The Hollywood Star Cars Museum

Do you like cars? Chris does. But even if you don’t this place is pretty amazing. This museum lives up to its name by featuring cars seen in some major movies and television shows including Batman, the Fast and the Furious, Ghostbusters and even the Dukes of Hazard.

We know what you’re thinking and yes, these are the real cars from the movies. So even if automobiles aren’t your thing, you’ll still have a lot of fun seeing these unique vehicles from your favorite movies.

8. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park

This one is a big fat duh if you’re visiting Gatlinburg. We had the pleasure of seeing Gatlinburg in the Fall and we can’t fathom how beautiful it will be with a little snow on the ground. Just be on the lookout forbears.

7. Ober Gatlinburg

As you can see from Erik’s video, Ober Gatlinburg is the best way to see what Gatlinburg would look like if you were Superman disguised as Clark Kent riding a tram. If the view isn’t enough, the tram is actually taking you to an mall/amusement park/ski area. It’s a wonderful way to spend your day in Gatlinburg.

6. The Gatlinburg Space Needle

At the heart of Gatlinburg is the 407 foot observation deck known as the Space Needle. Also home ofArcadia, the Captured (which we’ll get into more later on in this list) and the future home of…US! Impossibilities!

Did I forget to mention the pizzaria? If you’re a family on a budget then the Gatlinburg Space Needle is the place to go. Everything is affordable, fun and in the same building.

5. The Mysterious Mansion

The Mysterious Mansion is a haunted house attraction that has been running for over 35 years. Oddly enough, it appears to be open all year. Erik loves haunted attractions and he had a blast here.

4. Hillbilly Golf

Do you have an important client you need to impress? Consider Hillbilly Golf.

Hillbilly Golf is a putt putt course on a mountain that goes down, which coincidently makes it really easy to lose your balls. But boy is it fun!

3. Make it Magic

Because of the internet and some other factors, good magic shops are really hard to find. Thankfully we have a good magic shop right down the road from us in Gatlinburg.

So if you’re a aspiring or professional Magician we suggest giving this place a visit. You’ll be surprised by what they have, we sure were!

Oh…and they also do Chainsaw Art!

2. Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre

Self-described as 1890’s style theatre, Sweet Fanny Adams is very reminiscent of the old Vaudeville acts. Even if you’re not familiar with Vaudeville, the show manages to be fresh and new. Vaudeville for the new century!

1. The Captured

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be locked in the basement of a cannibalistic serial killer? Much to our surprise, it’s quite a bit of fun!

The Captured is Gatlinburg’s first and (as of this writing) only live escape game. A live escape game is when you and several other people are locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to escape the room in a set amount of time. If you escape you get a t-shirt, but if you don’t…
