Chinese Mainlanders generally have ‘authoritarian personalities’ & as such they misinterpret American style liberty as chaos, which in turn leads to comparisons to the Culture Revolution. The Party encourages this thinking in the course of its anti-democracy indoctrination. Shao’s obviously gotten his full load of indoctrination which of course caused him to make this rather inept analogy. It can take a long time for immigrants from the Chinese Mainland to adapt to American democracy as a result of this indoctrination. Some never do. It is our job as Americans & free people to help them free their minds.
