Product Handles of some organizers. Thank you all!

On June 18, in honor of our expansion launch, we threw a huge happy hour in SF. To help celebrate, Product Hunt communities worldwide have been organizing meetups in their hometown.

Throughout June and July, 60 cities around the world committed to throwing meetups.

Let’s get to 100.

There’s something special when an online community meets “IRL.” Bonds formed over a mutual interest become cemented as you put a face to a Twitter or Product Hunt handle.

I’ve been to over a dozen meetups worldwide (from Philadelphia to Paris to Vienna), and we’re excited for the day when every country hosts a Product Hunt meetup. After all, half of the Product Hunt community is outside the U.S, and 97% outside SF.

That is to say, great products and makers exist everywhere. Dubsmash, a top-ranked app in the App Store, premiered in front of 200+ at Berlin’s first Product Hunt meetup, as just a “side project” :)

Hosting Meetups is a great way to get startups from your city on Product Hunt’s radar, and to bring your community together. If you want to learn more about Product Hunt activity in your city, or launch a community in your city, join our slack community here, launched by myself and community master @erictwillis. (thanks @Iz for the site!)

Big thanks to all the hosts and we look forward to meeting awesome members of the community in person.
