Whole 30 — Day 7
One week down! 24% complete! Woohoo!
So yesterday sucked, as I said. I wanted a lot of sugar, etc but luckily I woke up today feeling stronger and more motivated. AND I stepped on the scale (even though you’re really not supposed to do that during whole 30) and I’m down 4 lbs in seven days. Psychologically, that’s huge for me! I know that when you shift to low carb diet you use less insulin and your kidneys dump a bunch of water. I know that this is water weight and it’s not body fat. But damn it feels good to see the scale move!!
My stomach feels happier and flatter. My dress is definitely not as tight through the waist today as it has been. My skin is brightening (although it will start peeling of like lizard soon because I had a chemical peel Saturday). I don’t feel hungry all the time and I’m enjoying eating fresh foods again.
I haven’t been exercising much this first week, I kind of wanted to transition gently. I want to start ramping things up this week and do a little cardio and strength.
THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN WORKING:
I’ve been making 2 big recipes that are compliant with the program and then portioning them right away. I have all my meals for this week packed. It takes a little time up front, but it makes making the right choice so easy.
I’m working really hard on staying positive and being grateful for the food I’m eating. I’m concentrating on the vitamins and antioxidants my body is getting and I feel like I’m being a good steward.
Journaling every day has been really helpful in keeping me on task and continually reminding myself that I made a commitment to do this
TODAY I’M PROUD THAT: I’m succeeding at this!! I had a lot of opportunities this weekend to go off-plan and I didn’t. This is the first time I’ve ever been this successful at something like this and I’m really proud of myself.
BREAKFAST: Pumpkin porridge with blueberries
LUNCH: Taco meat w/ salsa, guacamole, lettuce and veggies
SNACK: Apple
DINNER: Butternut squash, bacon and egg “quiche”
