Tie it together.
The loose ends.
The hanging ribbons.
The streambed that long stopped meeting
in the middle.

Melt the sand into glass.
Dredge the depths.
Pull up more than a boot and a lost pair of glasses.

Make time shatter with your waves.
Walk the beach in snowshoes
so as not to leave footprints.

Be you in all your vastness,
all your untimely hours and frightened tears
and dim masked suffering.

Be your own witness,
your shining honors, your weakness.
