First, anyone at any level can benefit from the support of a mentor. They can help to bail us out when we are at a low point. It can be helpful, but it can only go as far as the person being mentored is willing to try

The only real criteria I have with my mentees is that they do the work. They don’t need to have the skills (that’s what I’m there to support), but they can’t expect to have anything handed to them.

Most people have natural leadership and they just don’t know it. Anyone who is willing to work hard deserves support.
