Why can’t I pause.
Honestly conscious

What happens when I pause.

When I pause, I am alone with my thoughts. I hear them as clear as day.

Don’t eat. You’ll get fat.
You’re a failure, you’re going to fail.
You’re unloveable.

These are things that no one wants to hear or be told. That is why I try my best to avoid pauses, to avoid being alone or still or unmoving. To move is to be productive, to move is to be safe. Pausing places one in danger. It is better to keep thinking, keep pushing forward, and to make yourself think you’re invincible.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
